CIRCAIC is an American Death Metal band from Colorado. The band formed two years ago and despite their limited experience, the band suggests things that have never been seen in the metal world. Although the main genre of the band is Death Metal, the band suggests some influences from progressive, melodic, and technical metal.

In July of this year they released their debut EP. I must say, their debut EP is one of the most invested independent EPs I have ever received. The album starts off great with "The Spewing of Venom." I was just speechless after first hearing the song. It started like a normal, fast Death Metal song and in some points even touches Black Metal. But, the clean voices came from nowhere as a complete surprise and just blew my mind. This surprise is bringing some brand new touches and making something that sounds like Metalcore and even Grunge; it's just something that I never expected to come. It's just got everything, such as melodic cleans and fast guitar solos between strong growls and everything that we love in Death Metal. Already in the first song I realized that whatever they are, they are not a normal band.

"Floodgates" is much faster and heavier and more loyal to the old-school technical Death Metal. Generally, it's another great song but the problem is that the song is too long. I think the band could give up a few minutes of the song and it would make it better.

"Polarity" is more modern and sounds better. The sound that CIRCAIC created for themselves is some kind of an integration between the old-school kind of Technical Death Metal and some other genres that creates a brand new thing. CIRCAIC is very brave and they are a band that thinks outside of the box, and in this song, it's bold and clear.

But in contrast to other modern Death Metal bands, CIRCAIC stays loyal to the old-school music and they do not forget where they came from. "The Separation Phase" is proof, where old-school music crushes with the modern sound.

"Beyond Recalibration" is definitely the best track on this album. It's a 4 minute song that has everything that Progressive ever suggested and even reminds me of ORPHANED LAND for a few minutes.

"False Prophetic Roads" contains the entire album in one song. The song starts from where the previous song ended with the Progressive sound and continues from Death Metal, elements of melodic Metal, and even touches Metalcore and Black Metal.

CIRCAIC are not only the next big thing and something that everybody needs to pay attention to; they are the embodiment of how Metal should and maybe will sound in the future. Personally, I believe this band will make it in the big time.
