Chrome Molly - Hoodoo Voodoo album cover

"Hoodoo Voodoo" is a full length album from CHROME MOLLY, a band from Leicester England. It is their sixth full length studio album. "In the beginning" is merely a guitar riff with some effects and a runtime of only fifty one seconds. "Can't Be Afraid of the Dark" is next, an improvement on the prior track. It provides us with a beefy guitar riff and hard hitting drums. The vocals don't seem to stand very forefront in the mix, and this distracted me slightly as the singer just seemed lost in a sea of instruments. CHROME MOLLY seems to have the talent however I haven't seen all too much of it yet.

"Some Kind of Voodoo" draws you in with a snappy beat and a catchy friendly sound. This track screams mass appeal especially to metal heads. If you're a fan of older hard Rock/Metal songs I'm sure you'll enjoy this. If you want to introduce a friend to this style of music this would be a great song to choose as it won't scare them away. "Save Me" is a song with good direction. It's the kind of song you want to click your fingers and move too. It's not ground-breaking but it works. CHROME MOLLY have put together a wonderful anthem in this track and for that reason if no others I will give them credit.

"Feeling Pressurised" sticks to the formula of the rest of this album perfectly. It's almost as if a plan was drawn up for how each song should fit together on this album and was followed to the letter. This track lacks experimentation which deducts heavily from the enjoyment factor.  "Now That Those Days Have Gone" seems to be the soft song of the album. It brings a welcome change of pace and refreshes the listener's ear. A Texan country sound rules the track from the twang of the guitar to the profound vocals. I'm not a fan of this song but it was needed on this album. A Valliant effort from CHROME MOLLY. This album both pleased and displeased me...most of it was great which made the bits that weren't that much more noticeable. One or two issues can be blamed on production but the rest falls on the bands shoulders. Overall this is a good album and worth a listen.
