One Last Ride
Chrome Division
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CHROME DIVISION; signed via Nuclear Blast Records, hailing from Norwegian grounds - performing Heavy Metal/Hard Rock, on their 5th and final album entitled: "One Last Ride" (released November 16th, 2018).
Since formation in 2004; the quartet in question have 5 albums in their discography, I am introduced to their 5th and final album entitled: "One Last Ride". 12 tracks ranging at around 46:41; CHROME DIVISION arrange an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Heavy Metal/Hard Rock developments. The enigmatic 0:40s introduction: "Return From The Wastelands" begins the record; bestowing onto the boistrously bouncy "So Fragile", flamboyantly capturing distinctively concrete grit – hardened hymns amalgamated with adroit catchiness and groovy manifestations. The band convey on diligent melodies, meticulous rhythms and relentless ramifications that rampage with stampeding stability – demonstrating crunchy captivation and solidly slick persistancy...prodegiously performed with profuse robustness.
Consisting of Eddie Guz on lead vocals; the frontman distributes clean, complex pipes with raw and rough remedies - as "Walk Away In Shame" contrasts with consistently composed constructions, converged with distinguished harmonies and inventively creative dynamics. Some high-pitched cords, crafted with primitive maliciousness and progressive technicalities for good measure. Dextrous guitar duo: Shagrath (also on bass/backing vocals) & Mr. Damage (also on bass/backing vocals) execute blistering diversity in songs like the conceptual "Back In Town" & the epic "You're Dead To Me"; establishing efficiently organic substances, rapidly swift nimbleness and rhythmic rambunctiousness that thunders with pummelling proficiencies while providing punchy skill.
Drumming powerhouse Tony White excels with hammering and ponderous weight in "The Call"; embellishing on a fluidly polished sound production quality with dominately crushing and sharp pounding that is assisted with infectiously injected, meaty hooks in which attributes amplified aesthetics and heavy slabs of rocking metal. "I'm On Fire Tonight" is one of the notable and most memorable tunes, variating versatile ultilizations with riveting stomps of vehement salubriousness - pursuiting in proficient energy, electrified with conceptual components and hasty velocity...a good track. "Staying Until The End" is a fun anthem; fuelled with raspy vocals, climatic choruses and gnarly fabrications in which wave with seamlessly smooth and sonic remorselessness – impressively infused with some psychedelic tempos and doomy, drinking biker gang atmospheres.
"This One Is Wild" is a rusher; spiraling into a barraged frenzy of chaos and mayhem, and an interesting collaboration of SONS OF ANARCHY-esquire influential components that uses your imagination with (if you have watched the series of course). The titular track has aformentioned characteristics, oozing with booze-charged adrenaline. "We Drink" is that typical buddy, drinking song - until the melancholic "Towards The Unknown" overall concludes the record.
Bottom line; I enjoyed a fascinating listen, CHROME DIVISION certainly outdone themselves with "One Last Ride" and old-school fans of 80s-90s Hard Rock/Heavy Metal will definitely relish this - a great finale of a band filled with finesse and flair, departed from the musical landscape...left behind is a discography that all heavy music fans should discover.<
