CEMETERY LUST is a band with a mixture of tones and ideas comes together to create a record with some of the most interesting ideas I have heard in a long time which is something to look forward to and is something to check out, I really don't know what to expect though as I have never really heard of this band but it's always something to look forward to especially getting into a new band.
"Throw the Switch" is from the start we have a fast and very powerful intro to the song, it has everything you could want, elentless guitar riffs and powerful drum beats to create a great and very heavy track, the only fault I can really find in this track is the fact I can barely hear the vocalist at all and I mean barely at all here folks. I kind of feel that the mix for this track could have been done better and that they could ave made every part of the band equal in terms of sound instead of trying to desipher what vocalist is saying which I feel would be a big problem for a band with this much force, but even still it's a strong track that holds up and shows what it can in the best of ways.
"Perverted Aggressor" brings more riffs, more aggressive blasts to the face, more attention on the bass as well but still I find myself with the whole vocals needing to be higher issue, I still find it hard to make out what the singer is singing here which makes me wonder what was going on behind the scenes here for this recording. When I got this promo I checked the band out via Youtube to see what this band was like live to see if both the record and their live performances had any difference, to my surprise there was in terms with the fact that you can hear every part of the band very clearly, though near the end of this track we start to hear the singer going into full force which is what I want to hear from this band in every way and when they do get into ful gear they are a relentless machine of destructive power.
When listening to "Sexual Maniac", I have to give the guys credit, this track has some balls and then some to it which is what I really want hear, from the guitars and bass down to the drums we can hear a massive change in terms of the musicianship. The band seem to combine Thrash with a few other elements to make this record and especially this track more suitable to their creative process which shows me that there are some tricks left to witness in this band which is a great thing to really see and it is indeed something to admire really when you are able to mix these ideas together in one whole.
When listening to "Resurrected Whore", wee see that through the record so far we have seen the band go from slow to fast in the blink of an eye showing that they are able to spread their sound across and stretch the ideas perfectly well, I also feel that for a lot of old school thrash fans that there is something to be found throughout this track in terms of the fact that it has a strong resemblance to early Slayer as these guys show a lot of speed when it comes to their playing as well as using very dark and very intimidating lyrical use to give off this dark and virtual idea of what the band are.
"Black Angels Of Hell" starts slow as the track opens with a very simple and very effective dark vibe which works for what we have already heard on this record, if anything this track holds more of the darker ideas that the band have presented so far and I really feel that this is the one that will really work well live as it has what you would need for getting fucked up in the pit, this can be said for the fact that it goes from slow to fast and so on giving people time to catch their breath before the next half of the song which knocks heads hard in the matter that this has some of the better drum work that you will find on this record and as well I really enjoy what this drummer is capable of as a musician, he has a skill set which is certainly being shown to us.
"Demonic Dementia" involves going back into some relentless speed we see that these guys have a formula for their more aggressive tracks to which I mean that what we see throughout the entire record is a well placed strategy that shows when they are doing slower songs there is a groove that we can jam with and that's something I have come to enjoy about this record but when these guys speed up it's a slaughter house to put it lightly, the faster songs show so much aggressive content that it's unreal yet also something you can go fucking nuts for at the same time as it shows what else these guys are capable of as a solid hard working machine.
When listening to "Possessed Confessions" there is something you can take from this song which I think is the fact that it sounds like a mental patients mentality at it's highest point, both sharp yet also unhinged would be the best way to describe this track as it really sounds like someone is certainly off of their meds and looking to let go of some back stored aggression in the best way possible. The riffs are very Thrash based where as the drums can be taken as Death Metal type drum beats mixed with some punk to spice things up and I really feel that is the lethal mixture that we have been presented with on this track.
"Night Of The Creep" is the final track of the record and by far the one track on this record that has some of the more brutal riffs to be found upon this entire recording which honestly sounds pretty bad-ass as well I have to say the drums on this one are really Death Metal styled as you can hear the guy going absolutely nuts on his kit and breaking it down to a science as you can hear a lot of different things going on right here with some thrash and some more of that old school punk influence. To conclude I feel this bands latest release has a lot of hope but and I know I have said this already, the vocals really need to be raised just because most of the record I could barely hear what this guys was singing at all and would have loved to have seen what this guy was doing on this record.
