CELLAR STONE is a Rock N' Roll band from Greece that writes the mentioned genre with an extremely excellence. They have recently released their newest album "One Fine Day" and that is what we are going to talk about.
The opening song from the album is "Lights Out" and it starts out with a very groove coming from the guitar riff and nice bass and drum work as well. The vocals are pretty good and the melody from the chorus reminded me of MR.BIG which is great. "Wash My Sins Away" starts out with a great guitar riff that is heavy and groovy, followed by now a little bit more aggressive vocals and some great arrangements coming from the backing vocals and guitars. Such a nice song.
"One Fine Day" is the song that gave its name to the album and it is pure metal. The guitar kept the incredible work and there are some nice ambiances and dynamics created using backing vocals and the chorus is really catch. "Wasted Tears" is a ballad that starts out with an acoustic guitar sound followed by some melodic electric parts. The vocal lines from the stanzas are good and it reminded me a little bit of the song from the 2000's. There is a inspiring guitar solo here.
"Breaking From Inside" starts with a southern USA vibe and the mixing here seems to be a little bit different. I liked the ambiance of that song, the arrangements and percussion made it even better than it is. "Spread Your Wings" kind of follow the same ambiance from the previous song and there is a nice set of effects here. "Hands Of Fate" is classic ballad with acoustic guitars, inspiring bass lines, keyboard on the background and very good vocal work and lines.
"Live While You're Alive" starts out heavy as hell, with a lot of groove and cool duet coming from the guitars. This song has a couple of different elements if compared to the previous ones, I think that is shows a different side of the band, but still with their own identity. They are really good on writing catch chorus. "Found My Way" follows the same vibe from the previous song and I like how they mix the aggressiveness from the groove guitars with melodic vocals and solos coming from the guitars.
"Rain On My Parade" is the last song from the album and it starts with a cool clean guitar riff and a nice vocal line that feels like the guy is talking to us. This song has one of the best solos from the album and it is one of my favorites from that record. Just listen to it!
CELLAR STONE have written and released a great Rock N' Roll album with influences of Metal and a lot of groove on their songs. The vocals are great, the instrumental is pretty good, and they know how to play and the production is clear. Great job, guys!
