Casus - Redemption Through Pervertion album cover

The very first thing that attracted my attention in this package was the bio sheet enclosed in the CD case. The reason I was surprised is that I hadn't seen a handwritten bio note in maaaaaany years! That's what I call cult!

Anyway, the only things that interest us in this sheet are that the band is pretty fresh (it is active for only a few months) and this is its very first release. Let's see what this brand new Greek act has to offer.

To tell you the truth, I was expecting much more from this demo. Their Black/Death Metal mix wasn't so interesting after all, since "Redemption Through Pervertion" offers nothing more than old school mid tempo Black/Death Metal tunes that you have heard a million times before. Yes, this would be a successful demo back in the 80's, but unfortunately we are in 2010 and things are unfortunately different. The music is not that bad, but it doesn't have anything special that will make it differ from many extreme releases out there. The production doesn't help either since the sound is really weak.

I will be waiting for a future release by those guys since it is a pity to see some pretty nice ideas being "buried" in mediocrity.
