Carousel - 2113 album cover

Today I am reviewing to the album "2113" from CAROUSEL. I really liked this album; it has this retro Metal feel to it that brings you back in the 90s. But also with some new sounds specific to the new millennium. The mix really gives us something quite unique. Don't let the minimalist aspect of the cover fool you. It has a lot of potential.

The band from Pittsburgh really hits the high note with this second album in 2 years. The sound is clearly made to make you feel nostalgic about the golden era of Metal. You could almost think that this album was recorded 20 years ago. In my opinion, it was intended that way for the feel of the album.

In addition to this, CAROUSEL welcomes their new guitarist, Matt Goldsborough, on this album. He also plays for PENTAGRAM and THE SKULL. It is clear that this match was meant to be. Matt really brings a great dimension to the band with epic riffs all the way through this album. It was really a pleasure for the ears to listen to each one of his solos.

"Buried Alive in Your Arms":
This song starts very strong with a small solo. This is one song where I feel like Matt was able to show us, to some extent, his guitar prowess.

"2113":
The title song of the album really got to me. It is a well-rounded song with a fantastic solo at the end. It has a nice length and a beautiful melody. It is hard to say anything bad about it. If there is a song I would recommend for you to listen in order to learn more about CAROUSEL; this is the one.

To wrap it up; I definitely recommend listening to this album for any fan of retro Heavy Metal/Hard Rock style. It has this vibe to it that you can't force onto an album. This band is going on my playlist for the future.<
