Trinity: Volume I
Carmeria

Thinking of Australia always brings to mind kangaroos, poisonous animals (it seems that the country has a greater number of poisonous species per square meter in the world), MEN AT WORK and AC/DC. But it’s clear course the Metal scene of the country doesn’t live only of the quintet and has an ample set of different genres being done there. And here is “Trinity: Volume I”, the new EP of the quintet CARMERIA. Produced and mixed by Jordan von Grae (the band’s singer), and mastered by Miro Mastering, the band’s music earned a clean and defined sonority, improving the listeners’ understanding of what is being expressed by the band. And Hassane’s artwork is truly charming and enigmatic.
Musically, the band follows the ways of Symphonic Metal, but on this three-piece EP, they follow an introspective, melancholic and charming side of the genre, being filled with excellent melodies and tender ambiences, evading grandiose moments. But such an approach earns them many points on the score, because it’s different, filled with hooking contrasts and it’s not hard to understand and assimilate what they want to express. “Lost in the Snow” is an introspective and melancholic song filled with excellent contrasts between charming keyboards and vocals with clean guitars. “Solaris” is an acoustic version of the same song presented on their full-length “Advenae”, so it’s a tender moment with very good vocals. And “A Sailorman’s Hymn” is a version of the quintet for an old KAMELOT’s song (the contrasts between vocals and backing vocals are great, with charming keyboards).
It's clear that “Trinity: Volume I” can sound a little unusual for fans of the genre, but CARMERIA is a name to be followed with attention.
