Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CABAL; signed via Vic Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Death/Thrash Metal, on their only debut album entitled: "Midian" (released 18th November, 2019).

Since formation in 1990; the quintet in question have only this here debut album in their discography so far entitled: "Midian"; Founded by NECROPHAGIA legend Killjoy after disbanding in 1990 he returns not long after to materialize new blood: CABAL, 7 tracks ranging at around 30:81... arranging an intricately designed formula of heavy-hitting Death/Thrash Metal amalgamations, "Images In Blood" begins this massacre of reckoning...conveying amplified adrenaline & boistrously bouncy gnarliness. Fabricating a blistering barrage of concretely gritty flamboyancy, frenzied hooks & monstrously meaty manifestations... forging deadly harmonies with uniquely versatile vehemence. Revolved around a hardened dose of groovy executions, crunchy craftsmaship expertise & brutally fierce firepower attributes.

Consisting of Killjoy on vocals; the frontman demonstrates a distinctive foundation of blood-drenched cords, growling into a guttural grandure of grunty high-pitched lungs of solid yet rawly rough raspiness & throaty snarls that yell with profusely robust rage. The titular track embellishes on experimental creatively, distributing a borderline fretwork of trailblazing virtuosity from guitar duo Dave & Mark. Showcasing rapidly swift nimbleness, organic substance & quintessentially meticulous momentum. Ruthlessly providing savagely sinister rhythms that thunder with chugging gallops, chaotic frolicking & dynamically dextrous creativity amalgamated into a fuelled hybrid of dimensions with fuelled yet hostile haste. "Dark Desires" has catchy guitar interludes; embossed into an bludgeoning onslaught of tight bass audibility from Rob, who thumps with steely precision & pulsating malice.

"God Complex" rips with roaring shreds that soar with relentlessly volatile weightiness; outbursting with outrè panache, ruthless pandemonium & razor-sharp calamaties establish chunky double bass snappiness with quirky maelstroms of punchy jumpiness that nails it into a killer laceration of razor-sharp riffs slabbed with sonically seamless solos while smothered with potently vibrant solidities. Battering drummer Paxton delivers a consistent hammering of rambunctiously speedy velocities ramified with riveting pursuits of strong strikes, and a blasphemously blackened formulaic of ominously jarring rampency. "Past Sins" stampedes with ramming retribution; punishing songwriting musicianship, and a fluidly polished sound production perseverence that persists with thickly primitive mayhem.

"Khaos Theory" is a 1:49 filler of warfare gunfire; blitzed into a frontal assault of blast beating bombardments into a leathal injection of infectiously venomous malevolence, until the overall concluding belter: "Nocturnal Reign" opens up with some elegantly exquisite guitar melodies until some soft drum fulfilments creates enjoyably rocketing overarchs with moody vibes & remarkably splendid performances of sulphurously shreiking old-school Death Metal madness. Rotated with some hints of clean acoustic elements, while excelling at implementing an immersively filthy yet
intense diversity of potentially talented rituals & mandatory malignance. An obvious influence would undoubtably include the late and great Chuck Schuldiner from the mighty DEATH (Rest In Peace) springs to mind immediately.

Bottom line; I am compelled to say that CABAL certainly outdone themselves for a debut, a brilliant discovery that has a bunch of replay value & an enriching embodiment of headbanging bliss empowerments with an explosive array of richly electrifying delights. A fantastic experience indeed, and it makes me think on why great albums like this turn into obscure rarities yet with thanks to Vic Records who have resurrected this hidden gem from the dead for the future generation to thrash to... all metal brethren & sister's of steel must check it out!
