Crown Lands - Fearless album cover

One band, two guys and one machine. That how I can describe the French duet called C R O W N. I'm in here, listened the second full-length called "Natron" and it's a typical Doom Metal with some electronic stuff in their song. It's different that I heard, because they play an Experimental Electronic Doom Metal, influenced by SUN O))) that I listened two songs today, to try to understand C R O W N sound proposal.

The first track "Serpents" had a dense atmosphere and I was not patient enough to understand the sound. And it repeats for the second track and changes in the third, finally!!! It's almost a typical Black Metal, fast, aggressive, raw, gunning your ears with Stephane vocals and.... Come to be the boring atmosphere song from the two first tracks. You can't imagine how angry I was when it happened. The fourth song "Fossils" is almost a pop rock with a cadence rhythm on the drums and a simple guitar riffs. It remembered me COLDPLAY or other Bit-Pop. I was when the song started because I thought I was listening another album! And the next "Apnea", are the truly dense and sad atmosphere I imagine in my mind. With some ethereal vocals and dense guitars that looks like bass. It's a typical Doom Metal and these two songs are the only two highlights in "Natron" and I could listen to their when I'm writing or making something who needs inspiration.
Unfortunately, starts again the same deep atmosphere with much noise and less music.

Honestly, it's a confuse album and requires more-than-usual patience to listen to all and enjoy the few cool moments that "Natron" had.
