The Fractal Ouroboros

Bull of Apis Bull of Bronze

As a fellow human who I believe is on the right path in life, I am 100% in agreement with their message. I have seen the destruction that others cause marginalized groups in the world, especially so called “religious” people. Beyond that, the music was fantastic. You can hear the anger and pain reflected in the music, and also the resolve. This was an album that a person with a conscience won’t soon forget.

BULL OF APIS BULL OF BRONZE is a collective against hierarchies, and the power structures that divide and separate humanity. The power that you feel inside you should be focused as a knife point into the hearts of those that only know how to consume, and those that live off the backs of the downtrodden. They stand as a knife pointed to the throat of any who seek to maintain the oppressive systems of white supremacy and fascism that continue to fester in our societies. Dismantle The Police. Dismantle All Prisons. Protect Trans Kids. Black Lives Matter. Indigenous Voices Matter. The album has seven songs.

“Trophy” is first. There is a very slow and steady buildup of sound. At the three-minute mark, the skies open, and down comes the storm. The vocals are horrid sounding, and the guitars buzz like an endless swarm of hornets. The sound retreats around the half-way mark, but the evil remains in the background, and it returns with a vengeance. “A History of Cages and Broken Bones” is another twisted offering, and I mean that in the best sense of that word. The tones here are very depressive and somber, and are the relentless screams of the tortured. “Suffocate, O Earthen Lungs; They Now Lungs of Ash” has devastating and harrowing tones, and do not look for a silver lining of any kind. The song is meant to remind you that marginalized groups are not treated fairly, and they are fed up.

“Annihilation” has another slow build with a soft and sober hum in the background. Much of this song is about the atmosphere, and how it moves the listener. Take them in, and let them do their job. “Liberation Ritual” has a slow drum build with spoken word that gets more loud and ominous as it progresses. Are we on the edge of a movement? “Our Over Apocalypse” is that movement. The battlefield is ridden with fog at first, but as the fog clears, you can see your enemy. You raise your weapon, as all bets are off, and the vocal screams reflect your unbridled anger. The lengthy “Ekstasis, Enstasis, and the Fractal Ouroboros” closes the album, with a storm of fire that consumes the sky. Eventually, the sound retreats, with only the steady hum of electronics. Spoken words enter, detailing a warning, and a revolution. Your victory is finally at hand.

Overall, as a fellow human who I believe is on the right path in life, I am 100% in agreement with their message. I have seen the destruction that others cause marginalized groups in the world, especially so called “religious” people. Beyond that, the music was fantastic. You can hear the anger and pain reflected in the music, and also the resolve. This was an album that a person with a conscience won’t soon forget.
