Quantum Catastrophe
Brain Drill

With a cover that looks more like a splatter B movie poster, the US based sickos return with their sophomore full-length work through Metal Blade Records entitled "Quantum Catastrophe". After a just decent debut album, these guys decided to kick some ass and show that they're not here to fool around. "Quantum Catastrophe" is a pretty good piece of brutal work and it is ready to swallow your soul (along with some rotten body parts)!
The album kicks off damn fine with Munguia's incredible bass assault and there's where chaos enters the scene! Relentless blasting, insane riffs and hypertechnical breaks are served in generous doses, since BRAIN DRILL seem determined not to fail at this. "Quantum Catastrophe" will not offer you any melody or soulful stuff; it will just give you the things it is supposed to give you, brutality, chaos and heaviness! The band's music is totally chaotic (in a good sense of course) with Ruskin's guitar shredding the fuck out of your raped ears, while he also makes a great use of his unpredictable pinch harmonics. It's fucking brutal and technical Death Metal and these guys will beat you relentlessly without even stopping to take a breath once in a while!
If you are into stuff like NECROPHAGIST, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, ORIGIN etc, then BRAIN DRILL's new album is a pretty good treat for you. But be careful, "Quantum Catastrophe" is not an easy album. You will need some time to get to know it a bit better.
