Formed in Melbourne, Australia in the year 2010, BORIS THE BLADE play Technical Death Metal and they have been touring and gigging since 2011. They have built up a massive and fanatic fan base in their home country and are currently no.1 in the Australian iTunes Metal charts. They released an EP called  "Tides Of Damnation " in 2011 and followed with a full length album called "The Human Hive" in 2014. "Warpath" is their second full-length album and released in 2017 through Siege Music. The band has toured pretty much across the Australian continent and intends to continue touring and writing songs. The band came up with the name, BORIS THE BLADE, as a joke and is a nod to a character in the British crime caper Snatch. Most of the songs were written by Josh Lording and Roman Koester

"Warpath", the title track, starts off the proceedings in a fast brutal pace that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The track is a fitting start to a brutal album that leaves the listener clamoring for more. The song is classic example of a Metalcore song with blast beats and a couple of breakdowns. "Misery" is a short track, clocking less than 3 minutes in runtime and is a powerful song with a memorable hook. It is a brutal assault on the senses and one can't help noticing the similarities with Randy Blythe. "Omens" is nestled smack in the middle of this savage album. The sheer ferocity of this vicious track is somewhat lessened by the breakdown that slows the proceedings a bit. It is nevertheless a merciless song and one of the stand out tracks of the album. "Paralyzed" sets the tone with a simple eerie melody and the song has many changes in tempo incorporated within it. The song has an interesting riff that holds the song together. The album closes out with "Solace" and it is a fitting end to this violent album. The song is an intense and harsh number that has a powerful feel to it.

The album on its whole has a dark, heavy tone and the band plays intense energy filled tracks. Daniel Sharp sings in a vocal range that is very nu-metal in a way and they sound like GOJIRA in a few places. However brutal the album sounds, it has some softer moments integrated in to the songs. The album explores themes like abuse, violence and self-destruction and one gets the feeling that in some cases, the breakdowns are actually poorly placed. This is an album for hardcore fans of the Mathcore genre and every song stuns with its ferociousness.<
