BOOBY TRAP are back with the third album since their resurrection in 2012. This is their first album since 2016 and they are back at it with a vengeance. They dominated the Portugal Metal Scene back in the mid to late nineties. They were pretty much one of the first crossover acts out there and they had a lot of influence on the next generation of bands afterwards. In a sense, a lot of bands looked up to these guys. Unfortunately they are not well known outside of Portugal and the main land so this was a whole new experience for me. I was able to track down their previous releases and their back catalog to see what I was going to review in the forefront.

Their legacy and reputation precedes them and they are as intense and aggressive than in the previous albums.  They really continue to display their old-school hardcore influences here and there. I guess you can say that they are Portugal's version of D.R.I. They play to the masses and mix well both Hardcore and Thrash Metal throughout this album even though it's always the same recipe for songs and when you listen to the previous albums, you can say that the progression is not there at all. They seem to be at a standstill nonetheless.

The production is sub-par and that hurt the overall quality of the album. It doesn't translate well when you listen to the album as a fan. It may be raw sound, it may or may not be on purpose, I don't know. I felt they didn't take it seriously enough. Yes, you have that raucous energy and frantic pace throughout the album but lacking a proper production gets on my nerves unfortunately. They are too many songs under two minutes and it really kills the pace of the album, especially the 9 second interlude which is the 6^th song of the album and it made no sense on putting it there in my honest opinion. It's pretty much a scattering of songs with no rhyme nor reason. It's very violent but it remains boring because it's the same thing as the previous efforts. I felt the shorter songs were a bit pointless and the album would have benefited from a more conscious effort.
