Bon Jovi - One Wild Last Night album cover

It is not a great secret the fact that BON JOVI are in a rising course despite the 'different' Lost Highway album. Currently the band is booking dates on an extremely busy schedule that will count many sold-out concerts judging by the quality of The Circle release. Rock Heroes has put up another stripped off DVD that has only the band's concert - sold-out of course - on July of 2001 in their hometown of New Jersey. The band had just returned in the music businees with Crush five years after the release of These Days. That time period BON JOVI stormed Europe and the US proving that the recent hiatus did not affected them in any level.
So, One Last Wild Night is the footage of that night in the Giants Stadium where the US JOVI fans had gathered to have a good time with their idols. Actually, this is the feeling that you get watching this DVD. BON JOVI perform differently on the US where the people / fans attend the concert to have a beer and enjoy the everlasting hits. Jon is the definition to the term 'frontman' knowing what to do to 'manipulate' the crowd and make the ladies screams their lungs out.
The filming with multiple cameras helps the most to have a close look to what happened that night on and off stage where some nice looking ladies enjoy Jon's sexy moves for the females' eyes only. This is not a sexistic comment; trust me when I say that a BON JOVI concert feels way better when you are surrounded with girls who enjoy the music and dance. The helicopter camera is the icing on the cake since it shows the height of the stage and the size of the Giants stadium filled with the JOVI fans. The band's perfromance was top notch and - as I said - Jon was -as always - the heart of the party.
Soundwise the DVD is a little bit weak since it misses part of the volume of the music that I am sure filled the stadium during the two concerts that are subject to this DVD. The good thing is the mixing, where the crowd shines during the sing-along parts in almost every chorus. The setlist is in fact a hits-list although there are a couple of tracks missing like Runaway or I'll Be There that I prefer more than Bed Of Roses. In the DVD's highlights we find the energetic and explosive Keep The Faith and the emotional Wanted Dead Or Alive with the impressive light show and the killer singing-support by the US audience.
I am not sure whether this DVD is worth to be part of your collection if you are not a die-hard fan of the band from New Jersey. But it is a visual proof that BON JOVI had the momentum and the energy to return and reclaim a throne that I am not sure they have ever lost. Having watched this DVD and the band's latest album I am really anxious to watch the UK concert this summer.
