For I Am Your Death

Bloodmoon Eclipse

Unfortunately, much of this album falls into the droning noise category for me. There were few discernable riffs, and the vocals were delivered in much of the same manner from song to song. This wasn’t a total loss, but it wasn’t very memorable either.

BLOODMOON ECLIPSE is a Black Metal band hailing from Greece. The duo have released their first album here, titled “For I Am Your Death,” under Purity Through Fire record label. The album has six songs, and it’s evident from the opening song, “The Demonic Vision of Satan’s Wrath,” that this is an ode to the Old School Black Metal bands if the FWOBM. The riffs are thick and overgrown, the vocals are raspy screams, and the drums move in double time. “Servants of Anti-God” has nearly the same pacing and same sounds as the previous song, and it might as well be a continuation. “Hopeless Damnation” uses the “Devil’s Fifth” riff in the beginning, but as far as originality, the album is already falling short. The music and vocals combine together to make a thick and energetic stew, but there is very little about the album that stands out.

“Embodiment of Christ’s Lamentation” is another chaotic affair where the band steps on the gas pedal firmly and doesn’t let go. It’s full speed ahead, without much regard for the sanctity of songwriting. “Drowned in Eternal Desolation” has an actual guitar riff that you can hear, and the song is pretty hopeless sounding, while retaining that familiar bite of Black Metal. “Molestation of the Heavenly Kingdom” closes the six song album, and at the risk of sounding repetitive, I won’t comment on the album any more. Unfortunately, much of this album falls into the droning noise category for me. There were few discernable riffs, and the vocals were delivered in much of the same manner from song to song. This wasn’t a total loss, but it wasn’t very memorable either.
