BLOOD COURT is a new independent death metal band formed in 2019. From Kassel in central Germany, drummer Andrè and vocalist Mike played in a band together called DARK HORIZON. Stefan joined the band in 2019 to round out the full lineup. With no shortage of top notch death metal coming out of Germany, the band looks to create a name for themselves with ten tracks of destructive death metal.

The album starts off with the track "Sinister Witchery" and it has a variety of brutal death metal and black metal. The song has intensity and a straight down your throat approach to the music. Fast and with melody imposed into groovy riffs that are well crafted alongside direct and punctual drumming. The opening song sets the tone for the rest of the album with the guys showing that the trio could be a force of classic metal. The track "The Supper" could be on the album of a well known 90's death metal group as it is a mid-tempo and riff driven style that never seems to get old to death metal fans. The vocals are a gnarly growl and vile screams that riddle the track with force and hatred. The album is just under thirty minutes and with ten tracks, so the band doesn't get sidetracked nor is there any gimmicks to the production throughout the release.

"Blood Court" is a solid track that starts off with a chunky and pounding riff that evolves into a frenzied mass of built up tension. Well layered with a variety of licks and tempo that is held together with very solid drumming. The album has its speed-ridden demon tracks with "Flesh Reincarnated Death" and "Chainsaw Symphony" that blaze along while utilizing sonic guitar and timely rhythm. "Skinned and Salted" aside being a killer named track, is a beast in its own right. Catchy classic death metal guitar and snare spasms dissected by mid-tempo chunky riffs. The last track "Dehumanized" some elements of grindcore blasts that ultimately turns into an apocalyptic death metal track of destruction. Another solid song on a release that really doesn't have any weak spots, a well rounded album.

The guys put together a very solid introduction to themselves and what they represent with their music. These are ten tracks that don't hold back and don't venture far from the good ole techniques and song writing that has made metal what it is today. The writing comes across as if the band has been playing together for quite some time now and though it is not groundbreaking material, put together the tracks the way they wanted them to be heard. Not overwhelmingly brutal, not overwhelmingly melodic. A steady compilation that the band should be happy with going forward as a group.
