Blind Petition - Law And Order album cover

Hailing from the late 70s, Blind Petition has a hefty hard rock sound that really shows their experience as a band. The band sounds tight as they smash through 11 tracks of classic sounding material.

Opening up with "Like Hell" the band displays a great sense for riff crafting, with some nice groove laden guitars and some great layered vocals. This is followed up by "People" and this is another song chock full of tasty riffage, with a really nice sounding chorus and great guitar playing backed up by a good solid rhythm section.

The album is full of great musicianship, and title track "Law And Order" is a great example of this, starting off with some nice acoustic guitars before building up to heavier section later on, showing a really good understanding of writing songs well. "Down To The Ground" also showcases some great songwriting, with some really cool bass playing really backing things up nicely here. There's also a cool ballad in the form of "How Long" which builds up into full on rock later on, another example of some great song crafting.

The album ends with "Blind Petition" and this is a good and heavy number to end affairs with. Some really nice guitar layering before smashing into some great verse riffs and a great approach to the vocals, which are nice and throaty but with plenty of melody.

The production is spot on for this sort of heavy rock, with chunky guitars meeting well layered vocals supported by a solid sounding rhythm section. In quieter moments, acoustic guitars sound nice and sparkly and gel well with the heavier moments on the album.

All said and done, this is a very good, solid release from Blind Petition. It really is great to see a band from the classic rock era can still deliver great tunes to us even now!
