Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: BLAZON RITE; signed via Gates of Hell Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Heavy Metal, on their sophomore full-length studio album entitled: "Wild Rites and Ancient Songs" (released April 14th, 2023). Since formation in 2020; the quintet in question have an EP entitled: "Dulce Bellum Inexpertis" (released March 29th, 2020), and 2 full-length studio albums in their discography so far entitled: "Endless Halls of Golden Totem" (released June 18th, 2021) on top of this here 2nd release of which I am introduced to entitled: "Wild Rites and Ancient Songs". 7 tracks ranging around 36:04; BLAZON RITE arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Heavy Metal developments.

Opening up with this rampantly rompy groove; a flamboyant firepower expertise impactfully belts a clobbering foundation in frolicking chugs and amplified adrenaline, impulsing a blistering barrage frenzy in harmonic distinction... amongst a distorted stridency on rollicking melody that thuds with sturdy tightness to boot as "Autumn Fear Brings Winter Doom" injects in infectious bass audibility from choppy thumper Devin Graham; distilling a dense grind in primitively raw tonality, whilst punchline remedy piledrives with profusely robust stability & synergised momentum. "Salvage What You Can of the Night" rivets with more old school rhythms; where monolithic tempo seamlessly shreds with sulphurous substance & organic meatiness, sonically rifting with thunderous solidity that's rather weighty whilst venomously driving.

Guitar duo Pierson Roe & James Kirn swifts with rapidly nimble virtuosity on quintessential skill; where twinning tremolo patterns tower through this rich utilisation that builds a crescendo element, implementing an archaic anthemic structure within "The Fall of a Once Great House. Until merging the dark ethereality in doomy grittiness with more steamrolling revs that showcase unique versatility, whilst this vibrantly potent yet volatile calamity in catchy hooks and boisterously bouncy riffage manifests with this symbolic zeal that's salubriously rocking to jam to. "Mark of the Stormborn Riders" keeps the snappy yet razor-sharp rush with rambunctious strife; as hammering drummer Ryan Haley stomps the set with steely precision & pummelling finesse, forging a hybrid but experimental stampede on wild slaps that slay with grindy aesthetics.

An acoustic ambience intertwines an atmospheric semblance within the titular track; starting off with birds chirping and a euphonic entrance until more speedy strikes pursuit with bulldozing briskfulness, vivaciously swerving with vigorous rigor amongst a crunchy ramification on bludgeoning instrumental grandeur. While throaty vocals from Johnny Halladay fabricates this uproarious on relentless but high-pitched pipes that soar with the rampaging yet technically prodigious licks BLAZON RITE provide with, while the penultimate banger "Troubadours of the Final Quarrel" harnesses a chiselling but galloping immersivity in complex craftsmanship ability and distinguished slabbiness that will rock you hard but heavy.

A hefty conundrum within the finale epic "The Coming Tide of Yule" overall concludes "Wild Rites And Ancient Songs"; mixing all aforementioned traits with more all guns blazing attributes and firing all cylinders meticulation, masqueraded with those mythical transparencies that transition with the malignant yet sanguine trepidation this record revolves through with. The bottom line here is; BLAZON RITE most surely outdone themselves with this one, it's a Heavy Metal spectacle those who are in favour of bands like MERCYFUL FATE or those traditional groups like SAXON (at the top of my head). Worthy of spinning & replaying a good few times, should you fancy an inventive but enjoyably entertaining discovery in this maelstrom of moody yet vibey assimilation in this justifiable act - do check it out.
