Blazing Tomb are from U.S.A., but their music is like a mix of Bolt Thrower and Dismember. You can even hear some Hardcore and thrash metal in the music. When a band goes Old school death metal, black metal, any kind of metal, they will remind you of bands from that era. The thrash metal that can be heard, has Slayer influences. The problem for me, is my limited knowledge in hardcore. Ok, I heard Merauder, Destructive Supergroup...but for me, those two bands are like a death metal Black Flag hybrid. No, they are not bad, but as I did write the hardcore scene is something I don't follow. And pretend something, is not for me, so I keep the hardcore away as much as I can.

Let's dig into Singles From The Tomb. "Visions From the Grey" is the first track, it opens up heavy, but then we head right into the Scandinavian death metal era, Dismember and Grave comes to mind. Brutal, the growls are sick, then after a short Slayer solo, we are in to the heavy land again, I gamble a bit and say that is probably a metallic hardcore breakdown. I can't help it, but each time I listen to this three track EP, Grave- and their album As Rapture Comes, actually comes closer.

Next track, "As Souls Descend" could be on a Dismember album. No, it's not a rip-off, but the Dismember spirit is there. "As Souls Descend" is a strong osdm track, and I really like it. "Tortured Minds" really has Bolt Thrower influences, the track is perfect, and as an osdm fan, the whole EP is a surprise, this band is new for me. But if they keep this up, and just do their thing, they will get a fan base outside the U.S.A. too.
