Black Metal powerhouse BLAZE OF PERDITION has again delivered some delectably beautiful tracks in their recent EP released in anticipation for February's full album "The Harrowing of Hearts". Having produced 4 stellar albums since their conception in 2007 the band has gone from strength to strength and they show no signs of stopping. The fact that the group have managed to produce three albums since their accident in 2013 is testament for their love of the craft. The artwork used is the same as the forthcoming album. Artist Izabela Grabda has proven her worth with this beautiful cover. The artwork is a stunning piece of dark art that I simply could not do justice describing. One simply has to see it.

The two track EP is, in my opinion, a Black Metal triumph. It opens with "Transmutation of Sins". The track has a very ominous, no mess about introduction that sets the pace and tone for the rest of the track. It is black metal at its finest, producing some tweaks that the group have evolved into the music from inspiration of other musical genres. The song itself flows beautifully, ebbing and growing as the track develops. One thing that struck me as particularly well done is the way that the multi layered tracking adds so much that you wouldn't think about, but the song just simply wouldn't be what it is without all the different cogs turning together. The vocals produced by Sonneillon are second to none, I found myself sitting back in my chair and closing my eyes. All of a sudden, I was somewhere else altogether, I was in a trance.... Now I am certain there is some cliché IRON MAIDEN lyric to encompass how I felt somewhere.... The music is spectacular, I felt the upbeat energetic track through my body, sending non stop electrical pulses through me. The lyrical writing for this track is completely complimentary to the music and the vocal track. In fact, I could feel the pain in the final note of the song.

The second track is a cover of the classic Gothic outfit FIELDS OF NEPHILIM's 1988 track "Moonchild". It Is a masterpiece. It takes what was a classic gothic track and drags it through the mud and grime to bring it out looking like the more mature version. You know, like the difference between you now and you before you discovered taxes and how much you actually need work to survive.... I found myself listening to this track over and over and each time something new would come to my attention and I would love the song more than I thought I could. I want to reiterate; this was each and every time I listened to it.

If these two tracks are anything to go off for when the album goes live in February then my friends, we are all in for treat. Fans of Black Metal or not, there is something for everyone here.
