Forsaken Dynasty

Usually when one draws upon the waters of Black Metal it is to express the emotions that many prefer to neglect, to expose that which light dares not enter or it may be to paint an imagery of the lands where eyes may never wander to reach the pinnacle of mountains that one's hands may never feel. Whatever it may be to the creator, it can be expressed, and I guess the same sentiment can be said about most genres. However, in my opinion, I humbly believe with Black Metal it is the potency of its energy that makes it the perfect conduit for which the bleakest of tones can be echoed. But...there exist times where the genre can take an unexpected turn, but a most welcome one that harness the spirit to contort into a different being.
Enter BLASPHEMOUS CREATION with their most recent release, "Forsaken Dynasty", an album that channels the essence of Black Metal yet uses its lifeblood to inhibit and bring to life a being that is crafted with that of Melodic Death Metal, Thrash Metal and even Power Metal, but it is not the concoction of these genres surging through this creation that makes it memorable. No, it is the very concept that is etched upon the stone, by that, I mean the album takes on a fabled approach where its quill is dipped in the ink of Egyptian mythologies where it paints a plethora of images that entices the mind.
One of the major highlights which aid the album in ascending its atmosphere is the instrumental aspect, especially the riffing which fuses both styles of Black Metal and Power Metal in a frenetic tempo but also in a serpentine motion, where the chords meander and coil to craft an intricate aura with each moment. Tracks such as, "World Encircler" and "Technological Enigma" radiates with its complexities but not to prove its musical prowess, rather the technicality of the riffing (especially where the bass is concerned) injects a different surge of power into this sarcophagus, animating this being that resides within.
Besides its melodic moments, it is the percussive elements which stands out in my opinion, like the lighting which scorches the earth, with each strike, in a haphazard motion, with the fury contained in each bolt, so too does the drums discharge with its playing. "Lioness Rage" and "Vindication Scourge" display the unfiltered aggression especially where the double bass is concerned coupled with the Thrash-style beats, this combo infused with the strings produces a cohesive aura that ignites the spirit imbued upon the album.
However, he energy which surges and rises flows not without one who dictates its course, and he who commands this power takes the form of the vocals. Appearing in a harsh Black Metal register mixed with a voice similar to that of Jeff Walker (CARCASS) what you get is one whose words are enough to reanimate the dead within their tombs, songs such as "The Architect" as well as, "Crimson Scepter" demonstrates the grandeur within each verse expelled as it carries with it much vigour to elevate the aura of "Forsaken Dynasty".
Overall, BLASPHEMOUS CREATION has forged a sceptre that contains much creational power within its jewel, enough to mimic the forces of the ancient Gods transcribed in sound.
