After almost 10 years of constant activity on the scene - which encompassed a demo, split, and two EP's - BLACK PRIEST OF SATAN have finally released their debut full-length studio record on March 4^th, 2016. With 6 incredibly raw tracks, this is a band no one should completely ignore. Their sound is extremely enchanting, haunting, and blood chilling. Their instrumentation is raw, and I would lie if I said it was a BIT raw, because nope, it's as raw as a soul crushing Black Metal album should be!

The record starts off with the first opus, the title track. Mayhem, early Black Metal-influenced vocals, a bit of modern riffing and a really atmospheric sound make this track in general very much enjoyable. The second track, "Prophet Of Fire", starts with raw drumming, sick vocals, fade-out screams, and is based on pure evil, both in sound and in text. The riffs are classic - everyone has most probably heard this type of riffing - except that they are done with slightly modern approach this time around. The third track, "Blazing Fires In The Night" reminds you of the rare Black/Thrash mixing bands, since the song itself, even if slow, has some Thrash influences alongside the constantly dominant classic Black Metal sound; and I'm in love with it. It's not too new, but I think it shouldn't be. The fourth track, "Unheard Prayer", starts off with a creepy intro, even though it has a positive vibe to it; and based on what you'd heard so far you doubt that it will stick to that sound for too long. I heard some avant-garde and no avant-garde; basically a blend of vocals from two eras.

This band is trying to stay true to their roots, but they absolutely have no problem with experimentation, and I really respect that. I like the MGLA-influenced riffs on this track and the atmosphere is incredible; particularly the inaudible shouted vocals mixed with the incredible screams. The fifth track, "Ritual Of 3 Candles", is slower, and it focuses more on the old school sound. The vocals are weird, but understandable and extremely brutal. The last track, "Guided By Two Moons" picks up where the previous tracks left off, but with a completely extreme approach to everything. Nasty riffs, nasty vocals, incredible drumming, and while I stared at the amazing artwork, all these voices that were coming from the sides were truly scary, but also somewhat extreme, in their own way.

The general atmosphere of this album is incredible. If you like Black Metal and enjoy old bands whilst having no problem listening to some new things too, then you should really blast this album in the darkness. It'll be worth it.
