Black Flame - Necrogenesis: Chants From The Grave album cover

Coming to us from Italy is the Blackened Death Metal band BLACK FLAME with their seventh full length album "Necrogenesis: Chants from the Grave". I have noticed recently that Italy has become a hot spot for Black and Death Metal and most of them are incredible and that goes for BLACK FLAME as well. I have heard a ton of really crappy Blackened Death Metal in my time, but this band is not one of them. The first track "Necrogenesis" is an intro that is creepy as fuck and really sets the mood. I was completely entranced by it.

That led us into the second track "Atra Mors" which is a punch to the gut. Some of the best Black Metal vocals I have heard in years! This is the shit I'm talking about, well produced Black Metal. Cardinale Italo is a fucking beast on guitar as well as vocals. The same goes for Tiorad who is also on guitars. This song is fucking nasty! M.A. Fog on drums is incredible as is Silent on the bass. If this whole album is like this I am going to be one happy metalhead.

"Morbid Worship" is just as brutal as the previous song. This album so far is mind blowing. I can now hear where this is considered Blackened Death Metal. This song is one of the best songs I have heard in recent years hands down. "Reverse Chanting and Rusty Nails" is absolutely brilliant. I couldn't ask for a more well written song. If you are looking for an album with perfect musicianship and sheer aggression this is it for sure. I just can't get over how amazing this album is so far.

"The Breath of Mud" is definitely just as hard as the other songs but it sounds darker if that makes any sense. It's like if old school met new. I fucking love it wholeheartedly. This is something that I have been missing and didn't even realize it until just now. Think BETHLEHEM meets BEHEMOTH. "From My Depths" picks the speed back up and throws caution to the wind. I don't know if I should sacrifice a goat or just start destroying everything around me. This is Awesome!

"Mater Larvarum" is as intense as sticking a red hot piece of metal, shoving it up your nose and scrambling your brains into mush. Everything on this song is perfect from the instruments to the vocals. I cannot believe I am just now hearing this band. I am so mad that I have missed out on Blackened Death Metal in it's purest form for all these years. The final song "A Grave Full of Serpents" takes about thirty seconds to kick in, but when it does OH MY FUCKING GOD! This is by far the best song on the album. Just non stop in your face seriously intense metal. This is definitely going into the top ten albums of 2019 for me. This may be one of the best Blackened Death Metal albums ever written hands down. I am very pleased to say the least. Keep up the great work!
