No, these Finnish warriors have nothing to do with JUDAS PRIEST and their self-titled diamond song. I have never heard their name and I was surprised when I did learn that they have already issued three albums before this one.
Their origin, as I said before, is from Finland but their influences are absolutely Swedish. Imagine a jam of DARK TRANQUILLITY and  KATATONIA and you are close enough. Their songs are easy listening 'cause of their simplicity, and win the listener with their refrains that are melodic enough; check, for example, the first two songs.
The vocals are divided into harsh and clean. Clean vocals are often in refrains and in some KATATONIA-style songs as Morning Sun or Deadsong, where the harmonies will bring you the Blackheim's band in memory (for sure). Some current influences from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean can also be found in Eternal.
As you can see from the title, you should not expect happiness or joyful feelings as the whole situation is quite melancholic. The fact is that although this style is not exactly my cup of tea, I listened to this album a lot of times and in the end I must say I liked it. Ah! The refrain of Star Of Fire with the female vocals is fantastic.
