Eternal Throne
Battle Dagorath

Eternal Throne is the debut release for the US band BATTLE DAGORATH. There are nine tracks including the intro and outro, which have been written by Christoph Ziegler who has also done the mastering in this album.
BATTLE DAGORATH serves the cold Norwegian Black Metal style very well with raw, powerful sounds and agonizing screams surrounded by a frozen and haunting darkness. The band lyrics wise is inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, a source that has been overused and since the band aimed into atmosphere and fantasy like that, it could be more appreciated if they used their own. The band wants become known for its Nordic black metal style and sometimes makes it way too obvious, but still the overall result is good. Brutal attitude embracing misanthropic urges, with tracks like Dead Eyes Of The Moon and Under The Warlord Spell standing out. Since this is the first release of BATTLE DAGORATH I must say that it sounds quite promising. The outcome is minimal and raw, although keyboard lines and ambient touches aren't missing.
Cold and dark, this album will satisfy the die-hard fans of the genre and it's always a pleasant surprise to see bands with quality in the American Black Metal scene.
