Battle Beast

In the true spirit of heavy Metal, Finland's well experienced heavy metal act release Bringer of Pain as a continuation to Unholy Savior, fresh out of Heavy Metal cosmogony, sent out into the world in this second month of 2017, BATLLE BEAT'S fourth full length album finds them working in a win to win relationship with Nuclear Blast Records, and Bringer of Pain comes to reassure and encourage that this fruitful labor remains the same.
Ever since I saw Tarja Turunen for the first time, I knew a female fronted band was one of the most sublime things ever to be conceived by reality. And when the first glance of Noora Louhimo allowed me to confirm the same almost 25 years later, I knew Bringer of Pain got me in for an epic ride through the upholders of the "classic" heavy metal tradition in the nowadays world. And the opening track proved to be just what the doctor prescribed.
Just the Cover art is reason enough to be blown away by this band, the amalgam of instruments and the manner of arrangement in the final product depicts a notable prowess from both the musicians and the production team.
BATTLE BEAST keep a very interesting approach on Heavy Metal and the direction it might take, subgenres and mainstream media's proposals aside.A very well established band, BATTLE BEAST keep an up going tempo throughout all of this album, interrupted only by the ballad or the pop rock oriented tracks, that might not result in one's favorite moment in the album, like in "Dancing with the beast" and "Far From Heaven"but that nevertheless belong in heavy metal and work out as a outstanding contrasts with darker tracks like "Lost In Wars", an arcadian journey hand by hand with the powerful and melodic voice of Noora Louhimo, a modern day valkyrie
The Intro in "Beyond The Burning Skies" serves as an immediate reference to SONATA ARCTICA, one of Finland's power metal masters, and one of the bands that BATTLE BEAST has supported on finish, german and European tours, along with POWERWOLF and STRATOVARIUS.
What Doro Pesch might have been able to do if she had had today's technology available for promotion and fan base building back in the day is the path to follow by Noora Louhimo and BATTLE BEAST to turn those primarily infatuated by her looks into part of the fanbase, once they hear their bonecrunching vocals on the title track they might not leave the band's side anymore.
A True Evocation of SAXON, JUDAS PRIEST and even MOTLEY CRÜE, as can be heard in the closing bonus track "Rock Trash" BATTLE BEAST share a strong identity will all this legendary bands, and the presence of Noora Louhimo is a strength which shall be well encouraged by the band.
An accomplished, mature and professional band, BATTLE BEAST stand the test of time and enter the veteran status with this album.
