The Chthonic Chronicles

Well, I am not a guy who follows the stream, and this is a time to say that, even BAL SAGOTH has a lot of talent and a lot of good critics, I'm going to disagree this time with the rest of the world... again.
I'm a huge fan of the epic style and the symphonic harsh way, but this time, after listening to this album many times, I found that its story was boring, and don't get me wrong, for me is very well written, but it has nothing interesting. It may be very dense for my intellect, but what can I do? I am getting old... and cranky.
This album has its moments; I can't deny that, talent is all along the tracks, but the overuse of spoken parts turn the album a bit plane, with no emotion of telling a story, only narrating parts, which if you don't have the lyrics, will be lost in a big, big world.
Musically it's rare; it's a strange mix between BURZUM, Christopher Lee, and some musical arrangements, for die-hard fans this will be a master piece, lots of guitars, excellent percussion, standard voices, all you can expect from a band like this, but for me, in a very objective way, this has nothing special, it's just another good work, and nothing else.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe not, but it's up to you to listen to this release. A plus point: it's remastered; but aside of that, I think you should stop, listen twice, and then maybe go on to another level, this one has been passed.
