Twisted Road
Asphalt Valentine
"Twisted Road" is the new album by ASPHALT VALENTINE, which was released on February 28th 2020 under HighVolMusic. The 5 man band are from Atlanta release the new album which contains 10 new songs from the band. The Hard Rock band have produced a fine sounding album to add to their repertoire. ASPHALT VALENTINE list some of their influences as being AEROSMITH, MOTLEY CRUE & AC/DC. The band have experienced a few changes in line up since they started but it has to be said that the current line up seems to be working well as they have created a good sounding new album between them. The band have been working on the new album for quite some time, starting writing material back in 2015. They released the video for the song "The Only" before going on a hiatus. That particular song was written after the band were approached by Joey Shonka to write music to accompany his documentary style movie about his trek across the Andes Mountain range.
The new album "Twisted Road opens with the self titled track "Twisted Road" which brings us some fine guitar riffs and is easy on the ears, as is the album as a whole. It's a nicely written & performed piece of Hard Rock style music that introduces us to the rest of the album. Song number 4 is called "Saving" and is a slow paced, gentle song. It is a smooth sounding song that gets livelier as it progresses. The vocals are powerful & the guitars are played in a soft style that is soothing to listen to, the drumming light & airy. The instrumental sections of the song is mind blowing as it carry you on a cloud of beautifully played music. "Shamefully" is song number 7 on the "Twisted Road" album and it's a well performed piece. I'm really enjoying the lyrics as much as the music in the 3 minute 56 second song. The words are deep and the music is rather fine. Closing the album is song number 10 "Rain." It opens with a screech of guitar and gives way to the guitars & drums after a second or 2 to be accompanied by the vocals and they all fit together like a glove to play the album out in the same style as it opens, with some well written and performed Hard Rock music which has been a pleasure to listen to. The songs on the album have been easy to listen to & pleasurable.
Without a doubt, the album "Twisted Road" has been worth the wait from the start of the writing till the release of the album. The songs are well written & performed, the lyrics are quite deep in places and the music is on point with each member giving a flawless performance. Perhaps the next album won't be as far away & we will hear from ASPHALT VALENTINE again sooner rather than later as the band have a great Hard Rock sound to them & I for one would like to hear more from the band in the future. Overall a well produced album with no complaints from me. I would recommend it as one to listen out for.
