After their great self-titled debut CD in 2009 and their critically acclaimed "Boldy Stride The Doomed"(2011), ARGUS are back with their US Epic Metal with a little Doomy touch. Featuring the powerful voice of former PENANCE vocalist Butch Balich, this new ARGUS full-length prepares to cement their moniker within the greatest US Metal treasure archives, because the eight songs contained on this album are granted to leave a carved impression on the small underground Metal connoisseur world.

Under a sinister and gloomy, thick as hell ambiance, the instrumental intro for "By Endurance We Conquer" is overwhelming and the section with the harmonized guitars is the perfect prelude for the magnificent vocals delivered with a strong conviction (styled in a Matt Barlow meets Messiah Marcolin tenor mode), it's this first impression that's set the mood for the rest of the platter, retro Heavy Metal with some hints of melancholy (even more palpable in "The Coward's Path" / "The Hands of Time Are Bleeding"), this is the beginning of an Epic journey: this is the Brand new 3rd Album from ARGUS.

The final instrumental track, starting with a Ultra low Doom riff sounds like a funeral requiem, slowly the things takes another turn when the title song finally kicks in, still Super Heavy but with a more interesting contrast between parts, yet you should know by now, that the sincerity is the main asset for those guys from Pennsylvania, this is the perfect conclusion for this recording. In between ARGUS that also offer us a solid track listing with numbers such as "The Coward's Path" and the NWOBHM's tinted "Cast Out All Raging Spirits" which both are the most impressive and standouts cuts.

"Beyond The Martyrs" is like a feast for the US Metal enthusiast, recommended For Fans of old ICED EARTH / SLOUGH FEG meets mighty twin axe attack of IRON MAIDEN meets SOLITUDE AETERNUS mixed with the Proggy flavors of ARTIZAN.
