Anti-Hero

Founded in 201,5 the band ANTI-HERO presents their debut EP titled "Snakes And Liars". The Italian band mixes the sound of Nu Metal from the late 90's with some Metalcore passages. Shawn (vocals), Cristian (guitar), Emanuel (guitar), Duccio (bass), and Alessio (drums) present lyrics about how to combat the problems of day-to-day life and the general mediocrity of our world today. I did not find any lack in the production or mixing. "I Am The Enemy" begins the album with a short introduction followed by heavy beats on drums and strong riffs. The predominant voice is clean, but the band really shine when the vocal goes to the guttural. Some times more torn, more drawn to the prevailing style. "Ronald Disgust" bets on the lead guitars bringing together the presence of very dark and bestial vocals, where it becomes even more pleasing and demonstrating the versatility of Shawn.
"Savior" is a slower, emotion-oriented track, but the immense influence of the 1990s causes it to lose its originality a bit. Unfortunately, it happens with "Back Home" that although it still brings some breaks of rhythms cannot excite very much. "Snake and Liars" song that inspired the name of this EP closes well the work, bringing less clean vocals, a very good instrumental and a great harmony among the members mainly when the rhythm becomes slower with a great chorus. Considering it is the debut EP, the band ANTI - HERO seemed very promising, I believe that if they maintain a minor focus in the genre Nu Metal and go straight in MetalCore would be better. That EP was a sample that the band is able to produce great things besides it demonstrate good creativity.
