Hello Metal-Temple. ANGERHEAD are releasing their 3rd EP. It is true that the band haven't released a full-length album since their debut in 2011, but they are nonetheless racking up the material and spreading it between their different EPs. That being said, I expect that a full-length should be coming at some point in the near future; and this 3rd instalment is a fair view of what the band has to offer.

The album opens on "So Cold". The song is a mix between Death and Thrash Metal, moving with ease from one genre to the other through its 4-minute length. These transitions are quite interesting and do provide it with a stylistic touch that isn't without its charm; it does however fall a bit short vocally, as the growling parts seem a bit forced and can't be enjoyed fully.

"Face the Fear" gets back to the root of Thrash Metal; sounding a bit like old MOTORHEAD, with harsh vocals and a fast tempo. The production values also sound more like it's a 1990s album than one released in 2016.

"Legacy of Hate" is one of the more engaging songs on the record. With a backing track of news broadcasts reporting crimes, shooting and such, the band tries to denounce the violence in today's world. I do indeed like this kind of work by any band, for this is the kind of message that can reach some people and open their eyes. It caught my ear on the first run through. Musically, we are once again treated to some old school Heavy Metal.

The comparison to MOTORHEAD doesn't stop here as they have also included a cover of "Iron Fist". Musically the track isn't much different from the original, but it's a nice addition to this album. In terms of vocals I can see the similarity between the singers and it was probably done as an homage to the late Lemmy Kilmister.

These guys indeed show promise, but we will need to see a full-length album to really appreciate the full picture here. I can see old-school Metalheads liking this style a lot, for it has the merits of being a good look back on the past glory of Thrash Metal.
