Angel Eyes

To tell you the truth, I didn't expect from this name (ANGEL EYES) that I would have to face a Post Metal/Sludge band. Only the album's artwork was kind of suspicious. Anyway, let's see what this 7 year old act has in store for all you demanding listeners.
With four tracks and an approximate duration of 44 minutes, the Chicago, Illinois, USA based quintet delivers a haunting trip of emotions, twisted thoughts and eerie landscapes. Armed with an almost suffocating sound, ANGEL EYES draws influences from the Post calmness of GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR and the Sludge madness of NEUROSIS to craft this four part jewel. Without even trying to pretend something that these guys are not, ANGEL EYES are mostly based on what they know best, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere full of psychedelic breaks and "dirty" groove. Their sound is filtered through a considerable expansive range that kind of describes the band's mood each moment and gives you slow, muddy moments to boiling parts.
By the way, do not try to listen or judge each song individually cause you just won't be able to. This is a four part story of hardship, mistakes and the loss of hope and it should be seen like this.
