Aggression - Feels Like Punk

When I hear some bands that are trying desperately to sound like the ancients from the 80's, I start to laugh with myself. You can't do things like they did, because this "real feeling" is something that belongs to that Metalheads' generation. So when you hear an ancient band and a beginner, you can have the clear idea of what I'm trying to explain. Back from the crypts of the past, the Canadian quintet AGGRESSION comes to teach you a violent and blunt lesson with "Feels Like Punks, Sounds Like Thrash", their new album.

Their musical work is based on a dirty and brutal form of Thrash Metal in the Old School format, from a time when musical aggressiveness was something important to put onto the music. They are in the same vein that SLAYER, DESTRUCTION, SODOM and many others, but using a guttural vocal and even some elements that could be found on old Death Metal recording from the 80s. To be honest: to understand what they are about, it's better to hear their musical work, and it's addicting! Vicious and brutal is the way that the sound production molded "Feels Like Punks, Sounds Like Thrash", but always having in mind that they must be understood, so the sound clarity is in a very good level to understand the guitar solos' duels, the power of bass and drums, and to have the best from these grunts.

They committed an act of purest defying on "Feels Like Punks, Sounds Like Thrash", creating music in a form that hypnotizes us all, but that is brutal and nasty as well. The fast tempos shown on "Attack of the Ice Lizards", the contrast between slow oppressive moments with fast ones on "Jehovah's Evil Curse", the purest Hardcore/MOTORHEAD influence that "Stench of you Mediocre Existence" bears, the sickness that flows from "Riding with the Living Dead" and from "Once upon a Time in Hell" will show you why I always say that the pedigree of old Bulldogs from the 80's can't be emulated, can't be copied. It's something that we (from those days) have in our hearts, not in music. Be prepared, because these old bastards are here to make you shake your heads off and to conquer you. Listen to "Feels Like Punks, Sounds Like Thrash" and learn the difference!
