Age Of Taurus - Desperate Souls Of Tortured Times album cover

"Desperate Souls of Tortured Times" is AGE OF TAURUS' debut album being released three years after their first demo. They hail from England and play Doom Metal with 70s Hard Rock influence, especially during the solos, which I thought was the best part of the songs. The guitar player has real ability when it comes down to the "feeling" of the solos, they are just fantastic. Another interesting thing is the bass that is part of the songs almost serving as a rhythm guitar.

However I would had to say that the drums and the vocals are the most lacking, they are really boring, especially the vocals, that are always in the same range and always sung the same way, but, even though it isn't all that impressive, it certainly isn't all that bad and seems to work for this band.

Even though this album is not a life changing record and has nothing specifically unforgettable about it, AGE OF TAURUS has released a pretty decent debut album.
