Here is another Metalcore record from AGAINST THE FLOOD, a band that comes from Surrey, United Kingdom. To set the record straight, Metalcore is a genre that is being overpopulated due to overpopulation of exceptional releases that are few and far between. AGAINST THE FLOOD didn't achieve to differentiate from the rest of the genre in terms of musical creation. I believe though that Metalcore is one of those genres that a song gets into another dimension when performed live. I mean it is a totally different situation when you watch a band live and when you listen to the record in your mp3 player with earplugs in your ears.

The band performs really well and is supported by a great production. The guitar players are playing cool riffs while the rhythm section is nailing every part of the song. Vocals are also fitting perfect in the record. For my taste I don't think I will bother listening to this record again though "A promise in gold" and "Where the compass doesn't lead" are so much ahead of the rest of the record.  In "Where the compass doesn't lead" the participation of the singer of ARUSHA ACCORD, Paul Green, gives an interesting and different outcome from the rest of the record.

"Home Truths"is not a bad record but it's not something one would choose among the endless sea of Metalcore records. That doesn't mean that fans of the genre will get disappointed or not enjoy this record. Concerning me, I just realized I miss listening to AS I LAY DYING.
