9 Circles
Acidiun
Who will feed the guy's hunger? That puzzling question kept on rising, again and again, over and over, for more than six times I believe. Better ask the band, because I think that they are still searching. Well at least they have a decent starting point in their quest for an answer. It seems that they have the hunger for more. ACIDIUN, hailing from Sweden, recently released their debut EP "9 Circles", comprises of three short tracks of what they can do with Deathcore and Post-Hardcore music. Brutalizing all the way, I still found points of interest which I have no doubt will come to light in a full length release.
Instead of breakdown the whole thing, like a lot of those bands are accustomed to, "Strolling Downwards" crashes the party with squirms of intelligence. Not striving to technical methods, but ACIDIUN formed a sort of a haze over the riffs, along with a few impressive bass lines that might have made an itch for a melodic feature. It did stroll downwards from there to the other two tracks, as I those felt quite monotonous, but here and there I noticed a few sparks that might rattle one's cage.
"9 Circles" is going somewhere, yet I guess that it is short to actually grasp what the band is truly capable of. Personally, I wish for more tracks out of this band that are similar to "Strolling Downwards" as it made me wonder.
