Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: ABHORIA; signed via Prosthetic Records, hailing from the United States of America - performing Black Metal, on their debut self-titled album (released February 4th, 2022). Since formation in 2017; the trio in question have a single entitled: "Mountebank" (released August 17th, 2017), and a debut self-titled release in their discography so far. 8 tracks ranging around 41:52 - ABHORIA arranges an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Black Metal developments.

Opening up with this demented; graveyard like setting of ambience, a blistering barrage frenzy in "False Idols" unleashes this rampantly rompy groove-bomb as amplified trembles rumble with reverberation revs that snare with scouring retribution. Sturdy thuds and boisterously bouncy carnage distills a flamboyantly strident tonality on ripping mayhem, amongst a vibrantly potent slab of solid yet evil empowering finesse. Showcasing weighty tightness & punchy stability, this thunderous vehemence utilizes versatile remedies of extreme aggression amongst a melodic precision to boot. A grinding mobility sulfurously swerves with savagely sinister meatiness, while monstrous malformations of slaying shreds from consisting guitarist Vor manifests with this virtuose maelstrom of ominous yet jarring executions in laceration bombardments of distorted adrenaline and vicious tactics of shrieking technicalities on rich torment.

"Mountebank" surges with more speedy tones of relentlessly bulldozing harmonies, while vocalist Walthrax roars his cords with raspy throatiness & grunty gutturals. Bludgeoning eardrums with this concretely gritty crunchiness while soaring shoutiness yells with bellowing gnarliness for good measure, sonically seamless nimbleness swifts with rapidly hybrid experimentation in a dense calamity in dexterously dynamic blasphemy. "The Thorn" revels with riveting waves of spectral yet venomous pursuits of striking progression, unearthing this quaking rampage of organically rifting substance & fierce firepower expertise that merges with uniquely raw roughness to boot. Belting a clobbering array of thumpy bass audibility from Koszmar, this rambunctiously pile driving axeman flickers his weapon with salubriously volatile zeal.

A catchy symbiosis within "Byzantine Promises" fabricates a berserking but hostile haste, as killer chunkiness implodes an impactful leap of thrashy yet towering tremors of a borderline foundation in ruthless pandemonium that injects an infectiously primitive riff that just makes me want to break chairs over other chairs in a mass stupify of jumbling rage for good sport. "Grave Expectations" monolithically hypnotizes bodies with profusely robust grumbles, as intensely immense crab-walk like deviousness ground breaks bones with twisted yet radically wicked fundamentals in flexible domination that just treads with bruising elements in snappy momentum incredibly briskly. Implementing a somewhat progressive rhythm; "Unevangelized" revolves with wildly rushing forges in which skyrockets with trailblazing yet slow movements, while rummaging with rowdy noise terror.

There's a lot of brimming aghast interjected with thunderstruck thrusts that provide significant remedies of satanic shrouds which prestigiously overtakes souls with possessive entrance in that vision, where the penultimate banger "Hollow" harnesses this maximal rigor on vigorous madness. While the overall concluding epic "Sunless" shares this BEHEMOTH-like conundrum in chanting-esque ritualism, this virulent synergy on menacing yet gloomy doom brings out this enjoyably entertaining discovery in Black Metal meticulance & with prodigious effect. Crafting a brilliant slice on tremolo picking pierces that just waves with shaking blitzkrieg; energetic complexity and boundless, cavernous agility - ABHORIA serves with grandiose grandeur in this subgenre at large with enthusiastic filth & gravitating drills.

Bottom line; ABHORIA delivered a creative distinction in a distinguished archetype of archaic bitterness towards the world, a listen that's surely worthy of spinning & replaying a good handful of times. Persisting with persevering magnitudes of strong malignance, pugnacious malevolence and bleeding assaults - "Abhoria" should engage a captivating experience for newcomers & veterans alike, do check it out.
