a.Lostfield - Internal Affairs album cover

This trio did a pretty good job with its debut album, since it arrived in a nice digipack version, with a bio sheet in it and everything I could need for this review. Unfortunately, the music contained in here is not as "good looking" as the whole package...

This is the very first musical step for these Colombian metallers, since "Internal Affairs" is their debut full-length release! The band chose not to have a record label behind it and decided to release this album by itself and use the help of Lugga Music Promotions. Let's see what this trio is all about.

The very first thing someone notices in this band is Ash Lostfield, who is mentioned in the line up as a composer and has even given his name to the band, so we easily understand that this guy is the mastermind behind all this. Anyway, these guys claim to play Alternative Metal or something. To tell you the truth, their music is not something really specific, since the band makes use of its classic Heavy Metal influences, some Progressive elements, as well as some melodic Death Metal ones. I don't want to sound like the bad guy, but I believe that this is not something that was done on purpose, but it was mostly because these guys couldn't handle their sound and don't even know what they play. I say this, because "Internal Affairs" is a weak album, from its beginning to its end.

The sound is really weak, the songs are not as tight as they should be causing boredom really quickly... Not that these guys don't know how to play or write, but it seems that they didn't work as much as they should on this project. First of all, they should either work more on creating a kind of music by mixing their influences or quit this "experimentation" and play something simpler. Definitely not one of the albums that will enter my CD player soon...
