With the upcoming release for "Dispelling The Veil Of Illusions" set for March 21, this is the album number two and another very significant step forward to reach success, for this Italian Metal group, three years after their extremely well rated debut album titled "The White Path to Rebirth".

This time the songwriting was updated with more sophisticated arrangements and a stronger focus on the melodies than before, the album is shorter and quite efficient with some new overtones ranging from AMARANTHE because of its fresh electronic sound, heavily dominated by the keyboards to AVANTASIA's radio friendly epic Method ("Kingdom Of Thyne") or displaying a new, heavier than ever, galloping groove ("White Logic") .

As usual the great Power Prog offers something ultra-catchy with obvious professionalism, even if the young German label is specialized in, well, Melodic Metal with a strong emphasis on the innovative Music side of the Progressive style, this time "Dispelling The Veil Of Illusions" is clearly less ambitious, set toward a more typical happy Power Metal mode, in the same category of those legendary albums released by the giants of the genre in the early 90's.

Indeed the style is clearly influenced by HELLOWEEN / GAMMA RAY/early FREEDOM CALL ("Quantum Leap") and co, those clearly tagged elements are well known and very orthodox : the fast double kick pace ("The Watchtower") / Symphonic & Bombastic Arrangements ("A Circle In The Ice") / Powerful Melodic Chorus with intense swirling Pop 80's Keys ("Dissonant Hearts") with Sci-Fi/Fantastic thematic ("Extraworld"), enhanced by an honest lead vocalist performance ("Memoirs of the Abyss") and a fine mixing under a dynamic production crafted by Audio Engineer Tancredi Barbuscia & 4th DIMENSION, "Dispelling The Veil Of Illusions" was recorded at Greenriver Studio in Varese, north of Italy.

Some modern electronic tricks were used here and there, but nothing really original or impressive nor outstanding, still it stands as the perfect contemporary palliative for the nostalgic of the finest hour of ANGRA / STRATOVARIUS and SONATA ARCTICA.
