WODDREA MYLENSTEDE: Set Release Date For "Créda Beaducwealm" Album For June 1st, 2016
April 9, 2016
OnJune 1st,Altare Productions, in conspiracy with Legion Blotan, is proud to present the debut album ofWóddréa Mylenstede,Créda Beaducwealm. Hailing from the UK,Wóddréa Mylenstedehave mined the depths of the black metal underground with a handful of obscure demos and, most notoriously, a split with Portugal's cultish Black Cilice. With a moniker that means "Demonic Mill" in Old English, it's no surprise that this mysterious entity creates a hazy, withered wash of sound transported from another, far-distant time - and one whose sinister edge scintillates in subtler ways than something more conventionally "demonic."
Like many a Legion Blotan release - and, for that matter, the aforementioned Black Cilice - onCréda Beaducwealm,Wóddréa Mylenstedeutilize an unapologetically raw, rehearsal-quality soundfield; however, do not mistake this for ineptness or lack of vision. Here, that recording style becomes a crucial part of the album's rustic, daresay rural atmosphere, heightening/deepening each reverberation with a generous swath of psychedelic splendor. Thusly armed, the punkish 'n' arrogant black metal thatWóddréa Mylenstedehave crafted since their shadowy beginnings takes on an exquisitely disconnected edge, both confrontational and escapist in equal measure. By album's end,Créda Beaducwealmopens up from its near-oppressive barrage of monochromaticism, but only barely, with no secrets truly revealed.
Wóddréa Mylenstedeembody the sound of the darkest pits of Yorkshire, invoking all the old fears and dark spirits of old England.Créda Beaducwealmis definitely not for the weak of mind or spirit.Cover and tracklisting are as follows:
