CAPPIO RECORDS - a brand new record label based in the United Kingdom - launched today with the digital release of two classic albums, plus an EP from British doom band WARNING. The Strength to Dream (1999), Watching from a Distance (2006) and Bridges EP (2010) are available to stream and download from iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and all other major digital outlets from today, and will be available via all reputable digital services in the coming days.

Having re-launched themselves on the live circuit at Roadburn Festival this year, and notching up performances on both sides of the Atlantic since then, WARNING have seen a resurgence in the interest of their releases. Watching from a Distance has been played in full on their 2017 run of shows.

The records - most notably 2006's landmark album Watching from a Distance - have both achieved cult status, proved influential in the doom metal sphere, and received a definitive physical release via Svart Records this summer, with limited edition box sets selling out swiftly. Now with the masters back under his own watchful eye, songwriter and frontman, Patrick Walker, has agreed to a digital release of the albums via new label, CAPPIO RECORDS.

Patrick Walker commented:

"I'm delighted that this music is now going to be looked after for me by CAPPIO RECORDS and that from now it will be preserved beyond its hitherto physical-only formats with a digital availability."

CAPPIO RECORDS founder, Becky Laverty, added:

"These records - but particularly Watching from a Distance - mean a great deal to me. Having witnessed two of the incredibly special WARNING shows this year, I know how much this music also means to a lot of other people, so I am delighted to play a part in making it more accessible to them.

"Patrick and I have been friends for five years now and when I started musing on the idea of starting my own label, this all fell into place. The deal was done over some wine out of a plastic cup in a backstage room, and I'm thrilled to kick off my label with such special releases."

Becky Laverty has over ten years experience as a music publicist working with various labels, bands and events along the way via her company Pioneer Music Press. Past and present clients include Roadburn Festival, Damnation Festival, Relapse Records, Earache Records, Profound Lore, Prosthetic Records, Ván Records, Tee Pee Records, Prophecy Productions, and many more.

"When floating the idea of creating my own label, I was met with overwhelming support from people who I am fortunate enough to know, love, trust and work with. Only a few have shook their heads and wondered about the wisdom of starting a label in this day and age.

"However, I am inspired by the creativity and drive of other independent label owners, as well as the artistry of the musicians that seek out collaborations with passionate record labels - that is what has pushed me forward with launching CAPPIO RECORDS. I am excited and inspired, and I hope to stay that way."

With several years of music industry experience and a life long love of music, she is ending 2017 by fulfilling one of her teenage dreams - officially becoming a record label boss. In 2018, CAPPIO RECORDS will be releasing brand new music from artists yet to be revealed (or decided upon).

CAPPIO RECORDS' logo was created by artist Becky Cloonan.

WARNING will play their final lives shows in 2018:

June 24 - Hellfest, Clisson - FR
