VENOM PRISON: Release Sophomore Album, "Samsara."
March 16, 2019
VENOM PRISON have today released their second studio full length, titled Samsara. The follow up to 2016's Animus, Samsara has already amassed wide spread critical acclaim. The ten track album is out now via Prosthetic Records.
Yesterday, a video for the track Asura's Realm was released, which can be viewed HERE:

Of the album release, the band comment:
"After Animus, it was a quick collective decision that we as a band would produce a much harder second album, the opposite of what people expect from us. Lyrically, we explored personal and socio-political issues which led us towards the album title Samsara, after the Buddhist concept of being reborn through life & suffering. After a gruelling studio experience to produce and record with Tom Dring, we're now ready to take Venom Prison all around the world and push Samsara to the masses. See you on the road, the grind is real."
Having named the album Samsara - after the Buddhist concept of being reborn into a never-ending cycle of suffering - the rising death metal outfit have laid their cards out on the table from the word go. Musically, the album is as abrasive as we have come to expect from this UK based five-piece; as frenetic as the debut but delivered with a power up of confidence in their delivery. Themes and topics explored in the album's lyrics are more personal than on their debut, Animus; vocalist, Larissa Stupar, examines her own interpretation and experiences of suffering, as well as navigating broader societal concepts.
Recorded in Summer 2018 at Vagrant Studio, Southport, UK, Samsara was produced by Tom Dring (Dawn Ray'd, Dragged Into Sunlight) and Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Power Trip). The work of both audio engineers highlights the dynamics and depth of the biting aggression present throughout Samsara. The album artwork was created by Eliran Kantor.
Praise for Samsara:
It is a furious, raging album; musical attrition that attacks with nuclear force and wind-tunnel velocity. They've made something more powerful and worthy of your respect than a million meaningless blast beats. - KERRANG! (5/5)
The sound of a much-vaunted new band fulfilling their potential and maturing into something deep, destructive, and gloriously beastly. Not only have Venom Prison lived up to the expectations, they've done it with the spirit of the underground coursing through their veins. Venom Prison embark on one of the most twisted and disturbing death metal journeys in recent memory. - METAL HAMMER (8/10)
To listen to Venom Prison is still akin to being hit by a wall of fire, a sandstorm of broken glass that shreds you to the bone. Venom Prison have come of age and created a masterpiece of righteous violence. - ZERO TOLERANCE (5/6)
The technicality of the dizzying DM riffs and complimentary lead work has been ramped up on par with scene veterans like Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, and on "Asura's Realm" Heartwork-era Carcass. - DECIBEL
...an all-out assault against religious dogma and hypocrisy, backed up expressively by savage riffing and unrepentant percussion. - REVOLVER
VENOM PRISON will embark on full UK and European tour as main support to Fit For An Autopsy. The uncompromising five-piece will head out on the road from May through to June; also joining the tour will be Vulvodynia & Justice For The Damned.

ABOUT VENOM PRISON:
VENOM PRISON first pummelled the jugular of the underground with a self-released demo Defy the Tyrant in 2015. They continued to rip through the touring circuits of the UK and Mainland Europe following up with The Primal Chaos EP. Once a steady and full line-up was established with the addition of bassist Mike Jefferies, the band then went on to release their debut full length Animus on Prosthetic Records. This propelled the band into the spotlight earning them the prestigious Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band in 2017. With this recognition they continued their assault on the UK, Mainland Europe, North America and Canada with their energetic and passionate performances alongside many respected bands such as Trivium, Code Orange, Aborted, Power Trip. With new drummer Joe Bills joining the ranks from early 2019 the live audio violence looks set to continue unabated.
