VALERIAN SWING: unveil new track, tour dates - and a free gift
September 30, 2014
VALERIAN SWING have today unveiled a track from their forthcoming album, A U R O R A, - a song called Cancer Minor, plus announced some long awaited European tour dates. On top of that, the band have decided that they would like to give fans and could-be listeners a chance to check out the album entirely for free.
Cancer Minor is taken from the Matt Bayles produced album, which will be released in October 2014 via a collective of international record labels (details below). Its an instrumental ride through uplifting sonic curios and prog infused jams.

The Italian trio have also announced a European tour in support of A U R O R A, as well as deciding to give the album away digitally entirely for free before its official release. The musical landscape has been changing significantly over the past few years, and whilst it is no hardship for big bands to give away their music for free, it is often a different story for emerging bands. However, VALERIAN SWING have decided that their album will be available for free download from October 3rd - via their soon-to-be-unveiled all new BandCamp page.
VALERIAN SWING commented:
"We want to give our album to you for free simply because we want more people to hear it and hopefully to connect with our music. We still firmly believe that physical products have a place in the current musical landscape and that if you like it enough, you'll get hold of it in this way too. But alongside that, we want to spread the word about what we've created, and hope you'll take away something from what we've worked towards for so long. There's no magical way we can make this appear on your iPhone so you'll have to do things manually by heading to our BandCamp page at the end of the week and downloading from there."
Hailing from Correggio, Italy, the three piece have toured multiple countries, honing an extraordinarily dynamic and frenetic output.VALERIAN SWINGare primarily an instrumental band, featuring occasional vocals; always driven by an eclectic and experimental musical vision.
Having recorded their previous albumA Sailor Lost Around The EarthwithMatt Bayles(Mastodon, Isis, Botch, Russian Circles) at Red Room in Seattle, WA, the trio invited the legendary producer to their home town to record the follow up.
The resulting albumA U R O R A, picks up whereA Sailor Lost...left off, but, according to Bayles "with more mood, more melodic crescendosand more vocals.". The band and producer set up camp at Igloo Audio Factory in Correggio to record the eight track album, before Bayles returned to Red Room to mix.
Following the release ofA Sailor Lost...VALERIAN SWING took off around the earth themselves, taking in both Europe and America, with a stop at SXSW, and playing shows with Russian Circles, Boris, and This Town Needs Guns among others. A full European tour is in the works for late 2014 in support of A U R O R A,where the band will showcase their unique genre-defying sounds, electrifyingly translated into the live arena.
A U R O R A will be released in October via the following labels:
To Lose La Track (Italy)
Cavity Records (USA)
Subsuburban (Denmark)
Small Pond (UK)
