April 22, 2017
Mascot Label Group are thrilled to announce that the Belgian, multi-award winning rockers Triggerfinger have signed to Mascot Records (Black Stone Cherry, Black Country Communion, Monster Truck, Big Jesus, Shaman's Harvest).
They have been exploding across Europe and have played an intensive 200 shows in the last 20 months, which also saw them support Muse on their sold out 50,000 capacity Stadium show in Aix-les-Bains, France and Park Live Festival in Russia. Insatiable for the live stage they have opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Rolling Stones (twice) including Hyde Park London, toured with Within Temptation, Thin Lizzy, Clutch, Big Sugar and Therapy? They were asked to step in and headline Pinkpop after the mighty Foo Fighters pulled out with Dave Grohl injured in 2015 and appeared at Rock Wercher 2014 just before Pearl Jam and The Black Keys on the main stage.
They've sold out the 8000 capacity Vorst in Brussels, the Paradiso in Amsterdam an impressive 10 times as well as the 6000 capacity Heineken Music Hall and built a fierce following across the continent due to their prolific touring which has also seen blistering festival sets at Lowlands, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Sziget, Reeperbahn, Rock in Vienna, Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and Hellfest ' where Mario Goossens was voted best drummer of the weekend (the line-up included: Slipknot, Korn, Faith No More, Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Lamb of God).
With over 12 million total YouTube views on their channel they've gone from cult following to household names in their native Belgium and across Europe thanks to their formidable live performances, instantly catchy songs and scored their first #1 single with their hugely popular version of Lykke Li's 'I Follow Rivers' which has over 18m views over two videos and led them to perform in the boxing ring during the Heavyweight title fight between Wladimir Klitschko (UKR) and Tony Thompson (USA) at Stade de Suisse in Bern, Switzerland which was broadcast across the world, including screens on Broadway.
The sharp dressed trio of Ruben Block (vocals/guitar), Monsieur Paul Van Bruystegem (bass) and Mario Goossens (drums) are currently working on their fifth as yet untitled new studio release following on from 2014s Belgian #1 album 'By Absence Of The Sun', 2012s #1 'Faders Up 2 ' Live in Amsterdam', #2 'All This Dancin' Around' (2010), #11 'What Grab's Ya?' (2008) and 'Faders Up ' Live in Antwerp' (2007), 'Triggerfinger' (2004) and in the time since their last album they took the opportunity to collaborate with Wu Tang Clan's Method Man on the stomping one off single 'The One' last year.
Their high energy rock and roll is unrelentingly infectious highlighted on songs such as Let It Ride, It Hasn't Gone Away, Perfect Match, Off the Rack, All This Dancin' Around, Short Term Memory Love and their mash up of Rihanna's 'Man Down' and Led Zeppelin's 'Kashmir', it's easy to see why they were named Best Band at the Belgium Music Industry Awards in 2011, 2012 and 2014 ' all around the last 3 album releases.
Talking about the new signing Ed van Zijl, Mascot Label Group's CEO said: "Triggerfinger are incredible, both in the studio and on stage. A band that deserves to be acknowledged by the international music scene. I am convinced that we can achieve that with Mascot. We are very happy to welcome Triggerfinger to our Mascot family."
Triggerfinger's Ruben Block adds; "Mascot has a strong international network and they're not just focussing on album sales, they're also working on possibilities to play live both inside and outside Europe. We are really excited about this new partnership."
More details about their upcoming album and tour will be announced in the next few months.
