TIGERCUB: Debut Album Coming November 11th, 2016 First Taster Posted | Announce Fall 2016 Tour
July 23, 2016
Noise-pop Brighton trio Tigercub have announced the forthcoming release of their as yet unnamed debut album via a live video stream from the studio, where they are currently recording with Grammy-nominated producer Alex Newport (At The Drive In, Death Cab for Cutie, Melvins, Pissed Jeans). The broadcast will run from 8PM GMT tonight for 20 minutes on the band's Facebook page, in visual collaboration with No Tape Inside. The album will be released on November 11[sup]th [/sup]via Alcopop! Records, home to the likes of Johnny Foreigner, Helen Love and Tellison.
The band said: "We're reaching completion of our debut LP, which is almost entirely material written in the last few months. Our inspiration is broader and the results more focussed than anything we've done in the past. With just a couple of days off for brief festival appearances, it feels like we're starting to unravel now but it's all been worth it.
"We've been lucky enough to be working on the record with Alex Newport - he's enabled us to combine some real tender songs, some dreamy, sometimes nightmarish, but with maniacal bone crushing distortion across the board."
The hotly-tipped trio have also shared details of an extensive headline tour this autumn, including European dates with Demob Happy.
The highly anticipated debut album follows Tigercub's widely acclaimed EP, Repressed Semantics, released via Venn Records last year. Lead track, 'Pictures Of You,' saw praise from the likes of Annie Mac and Daniel P. Carter on their respective BBC Radio 1 shows, as well as Radio X, Amazing Radio, The Guardian, NME, Crack, DIY and more.
