THIEF is the brainchild of Dylan Neal who was a dulcimer player for the critically acclaimed experimental black metal band BOTANIST. Deeply inspired by sacred vocal music and the limitlessness of electronic music, Neal began to experiment with these sounds and to connect the dots between the ancient and new; the sacred from the past and sonic expressions of the future. This involved crate digging for strange medieval hymns and experimenting with manipulating them in interesting, meaningful ways.

In 2016, as a one-man project, THIEF's first official release "Thieves Hymn in D Minor" was born. In the time after, THIEF grew to a full three-member band and now the sophomore album and Prophecy Productions debut Map of Lost Keys is about to be released. This new record marks a huge step forward musically for THIEF and is a significantly more detailed, and to Neal ' a more realized work.

Map of Lost Keys will be released on LP, CD Digipak & Digital on July 26th, 2019 via Prophecy Productions and is now available for pre-order.
