THE KING IS BLIND: Second Single "Bloodlet Ascension" Released
January 11, 2016
Summoned to carry the torch for a new generation of extreme music, East Anglia's The King Is Blindhave revealed "Bloodlet Ascension," a pummeling second track from their forthcoming blistering debut album"Our Father"due 29th January. Recentlysigning to the resurrected Cacophonous Records, Our Fatheris the first release from the label in over a decade.
"Bloodlet Ascension" is a vibrant face-punch that represents the hauling of one's self from the brink of devastation. Of finding that inner fire to prove every one wrong and going out and doing just that. Or embarking on a malevolent plan of revenge, it all depends on your point of view. Representative of the more classic heavy metal fire that burns within The King Is Blind, and following the concept of 'Our Father', 'Bloodlet...' sees our protagonist Satan hatch his plan to appropriate the race of man, to subvert humanity to his own flaws, and to claim us as forever his." ' Stephen John Tovey, Vocalist
Bloodlet Ascensionfollows previous track Fragility Becomes Wrath which saw its first broadcast with BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, followed by an online premiere with Metal Hammer.
To celebrate the release of Our Father, The King Is Blindwill take to London's Our Black Heart on 31st January where they will play the album live in its entirety for the first time. On the basis of their background check and self-made drawings, they created something like a book. Because of their intensive work around this topic, the combination of black metal and the lyrics seems more than authentic.
"It's only a few short weeks until 'Our Father' is unleashed, and it is a strange place to be; as if a journey is both ending and beginning concurrently. There is pride, of course, and there is also a deep rooted sense of achievement, that we have created
something a little outside the norm, particularly for heavy metal; that 'Our Father' could go some way to achieving our aim of making an album that stands out and becomes a part of the great British legacy of metal. The feeling goes beyond excitement, because there is a confidence that however it is received, we have produced the album not just of Satan's life, but of our lives, too. All that is left is to set our child free and hope people love it as much as we do." ' Stephen John Tovey
The King Is Blind boast an impressive heritage, with members drawing from a wealth of experience in Cradle Of Filth, New Model Army, Extreme Noise Terror, and Entwined. Fresh from a bludgeoning performance at Damnation Festival and their recent UK run with Winterfylleth, the band hold an impressive set of notches on the touring post, including Temples, HammerFest and Bloodstock festivals, alongside support to Fen. The band are penciling in further dates for early 2016 which will be announced soon.
Armed with a relentlessly brutal masterpiece, Our Father is set to obelisk The King Is Blind on the extreme music map. New life has been breathed into the underground.
