STREAM CITY: Are Set For Their Debut Release And A New Music Video
December 8, 2014
Stream City is one of the most unique and original bands in the Danish rock scene. The band, which has its origins on the island Bornholm, has impressed audiences and critics alike with their creativity and stage presence. With their theatrical and energetic live performances, Stream City has drawn full crowds, while their chaotic soundscapes have spread like wildfire throughout the Danish underground. "Demo of the Month" in GAFFA, "Rock Act of the Year" at Underground Music Awards and an ocean of reviews from around the world which praise the two EP's, "Hello Gravity" and "Welcome Paramnesia", are some of the accolades that the quartet has received. Now, the band is finally ready to step up with their debut album, HOAX.
The album title refers to the general theme of the songs that, in one way or another, refer to fraud, manipulation, routines and acceptance of things that in actuality should be dismissed. There's no doubt that Stream City's roots are found in the nerve of punk music and the spirit of the DIY community. The debut album has been recorded and produced by the band members themselves and this is an important part of the band's philosophy in respect to life and music. They have had the independence and courage to go their own way in order to create an original and cohesive style of music, which is melodic, energetic and playful. The compositions are a fearless mixture of daunting violins, cheeky guitar riffs, solid bass lines and complex drumming.
The lyrical universe is based on quirky streams of thought about society, which attempt to poke at the values of the listener and encourage the audience to think and reflect. Stream City will betouring throughout Denmark in the spring of 2015.
HOAX is out via Prime Collective onFebruary 2nd 2015.
