Girthsword promotions brings their fantasy themed metal festival, QUESTFEST, back to Canberra this March. The show, which is run over two stages at The Basement, is a blend of metal night and pop culture event with games, contests and a cosplay competition. The lineup this year features some of Australia's most exciting acts spearheaded by symphonic metal bands AWAKEN SOLACE of Brisbane and Sydney's OBERON. The rest of the lineup is rounded out by a mix of genres with BEAST IMPALORE, SARALISSE, TRIPLE KILL, ARKANAE, DARKLORE with acoustic acts KAZKARIV and DANIEL KELLY.

"Last year we didn't know what to expect as this was our first attempt at doing a show this size. We saw the gradual growth of fantasy themed metal acts in the NSW / ACT area and thought it would be a great idea to get all of them together to have one big party."

"We were overwhelmed with the support we got in 2018, we really didn't know what to expect. We offered up a prize for best cosplay and we were stunned when we saw hordes of people coming through the doors of a metal show dressed as elves, anime characters, armored orcs and wizards, it made the show another level of fun."

"This year we've got some fantastic prizes lined up for our "Heroes and Villains Costume Competition" which is judged by Canberra's own cosplay identity Scarlett Moth. We've worked closely with the ACT's tabletop/gaming bars Reload and The Copper Dragon who have donated vouchers to our prize packs, so we encourage everyone to join in on the fantasy theme and come in costume. If costumes aren't your thing however, we also have a door prize that we will be giving away to one lucky patron"
